Topshop's 'The Foundation'

As part of the survey scheme I am registered to with Topshop, I get sent a magazine- quarterly, I think- and samples of new products in return for my opinion on the items online. I'm not sure if you can still sign up to be part of the survey, as it was a fair while ago that I did so myself. I was recently sent a free sample of their new The Face range of complexion make up. I love Topshop cosmetics- I own the creamy highlighters, a couple of lipsticks, and nail polishes. However, I am a little picky with my foundations- mostly because I am so pale (NW10 in Studio Fix from MAC) and because I like a fuller coverage to even out pigmentation in my face. I love samples for the same reason as everybody else- I don't want to spend £20 upwards on foundation that won't sit well, or oxidises, or doesn't match as I have done before.

My initial thought when I saw the images on the card, was that it looks a lot like a new MAC foundation currently being tested backstage at NYFW. I have heard before that Topshop cosmetics are manufactured by MAC, so I am wondering with the timing whether this is a taste of what is to come for MAC in the near future.  With the small glass bottle and pipette top, it is even similarly packaged to the product in the testing stages during fashion month. Moving aside from the packaging, I really liked this product and may well purchase it in the future. The shade seen on my skin is 2.0- I'm not too sure of the shade range just yet, but obviously this was too dark for me. I did try it on my face to see how the product sat, and I found that it actually sat quite well on me. I used my fingers to apply it, and really work it into my skin, and it felt like satin- wasn't sticky like MAC's Face And Body foundation, and it blended really well. It did have quite a sheer coverage, which isn't something I normally go for in a foundation, but when I'm not looking for a heavy base, this is something I would use.
